Church Clock Project

News Category:

Parish

The fund for the Church Clock Restoration Project now stands at £7,489.24. This has been accrued by fund raising in the village and donations - an excellent effort by all concerned. However, there is still a way to go to reach the target of £12,000 plus. Grant applications are still being pursued despite set backs from various grant making bodies. In the meantime, fund raising will continue and thank you to all who have helped and donated: your contributions and help are very much appreciated.

The Children’s Society

News Category:

Benefice

Please bring your blue boxes in with your contributions for the Society’s valuable work. As recently as 12th January 2012 the newspapers were reporting that the Children’s Society were very concerned about the large number of children who were dissatisfied with their lives causing them to suffer from depression and eating disorders. We can help with our savings for those children. Please bring your boxes to church or to 62 Howes Barn. Thank you.

Flowers in King’s Cliffe Church

News Category:

Benefice

Thank you so much to those of you who bring flowers to church. Many contribute on a regular basis, others help at the three big festivals; Easter, Christmas and Harvest Thanksgiving and there are also some who leave flowers anonymously. These are always most welcome. We are thinking of reviving the custom whereby a lily is given in memory of someone special to the donor for the service on Easter Sunday. Names may be read out if so wished or kept private.

Anyone wishing to participate, please contact Hazel Hill on 470331 or Judy Floyd on 470635 or, alternatively, have a word with Philip or Karin.

Monthly Coffee Morning

News Category:

Benefice

Our February Church Coffee Morning was held on 8th February at the home of Renee and Peter Marshall. It was a happy and pleasant morning at which we enjoyed coffee, home-made biscuits and Renee’s home-made scones accompanied with jam and cream. A big thank you to Renee and Peter for their generous hospitability. £108 was raised for Church funds.

Our next Coffee Morning will be at 10.30am on Wednesday 14th March at 22 Park Street, the home of Louise Bowen-West. If you would like to come but feel that you may not know anyone give a ring before hand to Maureen (470960) or Janet (470446) and we will make sure your first visit is made as easy as possible.
