David Teall with Sir Robin Knox-Johnston

Our Web Master developed his skills by helping to design and build a new web site for the Cruising Association. Since he was licensed as a Reader he has resigned from his position with the Association in order to concentrate on his work within his Benefice and the Deanery.

His work for the Cruising Association was recognised by the presentation of the Knight Cup by the Association's Patron Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.  The citation for the award read as follows:

"The Knight Cup is awarded for the most outstanding contribution by a CA member to the work of the CA in any sphere and was awarded to David Teall. He has been a member for over 24 years, and was responsible for many of the electronic services that the CA enjoys today. He was an active member of the Med Section for many years, and has had day to day oversight of our website Forums for more than 6 years. He was also the instigator of MedNet."

Church Clock Project

News Category:

Parish

The fund for the Church Clock Restoration Project now stands at £7,489.24. This has been accrued by fund raising in the village and donations - an excellent effort by all concerned. However, there is still a way to go to reach the target of £12,000 plus. Grant applications are still being pursued despite set backs from various grant making bodies. In the meantime, fund raising will continue and thank you to all who have helped and donated: your contributions and help are very much appreciated.

The Children’s Society

News Category:

Benefice

Please bring your blue boxes in with your contributions for the Society’s valuable work. As recently as 12th January 2012 the newspapers were reporting that the Children’s Society were very concerned about the large number of children who were dissatisfied with their lives causing them to suffer from depression and eating disorders. We can help with our savings for those children. Please bring your boxes to church or to 62 Howes Barn. Thank you.
