A congregation of about 40 met for the Family Service in church on 5th October 2008 to welcome Mark Latchford as head of Glapthorn's Church of England Lower School. We were also introduced to his wife Sarah (who teaches music at Oundle School and accompanied, on her keyboard, the cheerful hymn singing). Mark spoke of his enthusiasm for the role of the school in the life of the village and church.

Children from the school read to us, led some of the prayers, and ably assisted the Rev Stephen Webster with his sermon (which involved the use of a spade and the discovery of treasure).
