Parish of Oundle with Ashton - People
Our vicar is Richard Ormston. He is married to Jackie and they have two children Tom and Jo. But how about some of the other folk who make St Peter's tick from week to week?
Below, you'll find a "who's who" at St Peter's. We've been constructing a "rogue's gallery"! The results can be seen below.
We are fortunate at St Peter's to have a great number of people with a wealth of musical talent. This is marshalled by our musical director Jenny Firth (pictured right alongside fellow organist John Round). Jenny co-ordinates the choral work and organises musicians of all ages to take part in a range of worship throughout the year. Young musicians play at our family service and people of all ages and backgrounds sing at Sunday services and at special events such as our renowned Carols by Candlelight each Christmas.
Stephen Webster is our Assistant Curate, He is married to Jane and they have three children, Emily, Daniel and Samuel. They moved to Oundle from Oxford following the conclusion of Stephen's two years of study at Wycliffe Hall. He was awarded the Oxford Diploma of Ministry. This is his first curacy. He was ordained Deacon at Peterborough Cathedral in 2007 and assists Richard in all aspects of the vicar's ministry. Both trained teachers, Stephen and Jane have a wide range of interests including reading, cooking, walking in the countryside and going on holiday to Sark.

We have three licensed Lay Readers (picyured above, left to right) Rob Gwynne, Jeremy Firth, and Joyce Tompkins whose job it is to help lead worship and provide pastoral care.

Our Churchwardens are Julia Newman and Rachel Johnson. Churchwardens are elected at the Annual Church Meeting and are responsible to the Bishop for ensuring that correct procedure takes place at St Peter's.
Our Parish Administrators are Yvonne Harris and Ali Coutts who work on Monday to Thursday between 9am and 1.00pm. If you need to contact them, the Parish Office telephone number is 01832 275675 (there is an answerphone available when they are not there) or you can e-mail them.
Our Verger is Brian Norris . Brian's working hours are more varied. He prepares the building for services in the middle of the week such as funerals as well as liaising with groups which use the church in the evenings and at weekends. He can also be contacted at the Parish Office or you can e-mail him.

Junior Church members leave at the end of the first hymn and divide into five age groups. The first is aged 3-6 (called "PowerPack"), the second aged 6-9 (called "Rockets"), the third aged 9-11 (called "JC 9-2-11"), the fourth aged 11-14 (called "The Band") and the fifth (called "Focus") is for those young people aged 14 and upwards (ie School Year 10 and upwards).

All adults are welcome to join one of these groups and are often useful as a follow-up to Bible courses such as Alpha. For detailed information about when and where Home Groups meet, click here.
