Parish of Thrapston

Welcome to the home page of St. James, Thrapston.
St. James is the historic Parish Church in the centre of Thrapston. The present building has been a beautiful place of worship since the 13th century. Today, it is a warm, welcoming community for all ages with crèche facilities, refreshments and a popular Family Service at 9.30 am on the first Sunday of the month. The Church is also open to visitors every Saturday between 10 and 12 noon.
Across the Nine Arches Bridge is St. Nicholas Islip which dates from the 15th century. A mile and a quarter along the River Nene lies the picturesque village of Denford with Holy Trinity Church built in the 13th century. Together, with St. James, they form the United Benefice of Thrapston, Islip and Denford.
The aim in all our churches is to communicate the Good News of Christ in a way which is interesting, intelligible, challenging and encouraging so that we can grow in our understanding and love for God.
All services are taken from Common Worship with music predominantly from Mission Praise hymn book.
If you would like further information about services, activities and special events or would like the Rector to visit please contact Rev. Charles Jefferson (01832 730814).
